Up Your Cheese & Cracker Game for Super Bowl 50

Who says cheese boards have to be fancy and formal? Add a dose of fun with these playful cracker topping combinations by MacKenzie Smith, the chef/writer for the blog GrilledCheese social.com, for the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. They’re perfect for all ages.

 Tip: Crackers come in a myriad of shapes, sizes and flavors. Select styles according to the cheeses being served – simple water crackers with light-flavored cheeses, heartier wheat or multi-grain crackers with bolder cheeses.

PBJ & Curd
Spread a layer of peanut butter on a cracker. Top with a dollop of your favorite jelly and a fresh Wisconsin cheese curd.


Colby Jack Ham Twist
Place a square slice of Wisconsin Colby-jack on a cracker. Top with a sweet pickle slice and deli ham, rolled up and thinly sliced.


Elvis Jr.
Spread Wisconsin mascarpone over a cracker and top with sliced banana, crushed salted peanuts and a drizzle of honey. Your guests will say, “thank you, thank you very much.”


Rainbow Whip
Mix 1 cup Wisconsin ricotta with 1 tablespoon powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Spread on a cracker and cover with sprinkles.


Sweet Brie
Spread chocolate hazelnut spread over a cracker and top with a piece of Wisconsin brie and sliced strawberry.


Peppermint Crush
Top a cracker with Wisconsin mascarpone and a generous sprinkle of crushed peppermint candy pieces.


Candy Apple Camembert
Spread apple butter on a cracker and top with a slice of Wisconsin camembert and red hot candies.


So Gouda
Top a cracker with a slice of smoked gouda, a small square of dark chocolate and dried pineapple.
