ACF United: Stafford’s Fireside Chat 04/06/2020

A message from ACF National President Stafford DeCambra, CEC, CCE, CCA, AAC

oday I write you with a shorter message of motivation and hope. Each of us has their own way of searching for and finding hope. What I’ve found, is that we have more in common, than different. In seeking solace through hope, there are a variety of physical and psychological means used by most. There are motivational moments through words & phrases, poetry, books, religion, food, art, music, dance and many more possibilities. As part of my own culture in Hawaii, in difficult times, I’ve most often found escape, peace and hope, through music.

Although away from my birth home, in Hawaii, I continue to look at the beauty and the rich culture of the music from the islands. I’ve also begun exploring peace through music from other locations and cultures. It’s incredible the comfort that I’ve re-discovered in music, realizing how much I have in common with others. A friend and professional colleague from Hawaii, shared with me, two new pieces of musical motivation, from YouTube. Hope and comfort will come to us in many forms over the coming days, weeks and months. During these unsure times, music will create a living bond among us, helping us with positive messages of reassurance.

With that said, I’ve chosen two YouTube selections for your listening and watching pleasure. You may have already viewed and heard my choices. If you’ve already viewed and listened to these selections, then please listen again… and if not, you’re in for a treat. Join me in listening closely and viewing the powerful messages of hope, comfort and consolation, from Doctor Elvis Francois, Doctor William Robinson, James Corden, Ben Platt and from the cast or Dear Evan Hansen.

Dream and imagine with me, a brighter future, our future. Know that you’re not standing alone, we will be found, we will be found! O.H.A.N.A.

Aloha & Mahalo,
